remember those ads that were running a few years ago with dr. neil clark warren? he talked about his compatibility matching system and offered free communication weekends at www.eharmony.com. well, I’m one of the people who went to the site and 6 months later I was engaged to becky and six months after that on june 24, 2006 we were married.

so we’re one of those success stories that you see on the commercials today. they didn’t pick our story to end up on a commercial even though I think it’s a great story…..but a little too long to share here.

our wedding was an amazing day, surrounded by our friends and family and filled with laughter, faith and hope.

but I remember the first thing we said to each other the next morning as we made our way to the restaurant to have breakfast with our family.

“it went by too fast…..it’s really too bad we couldn’t have stretched the whole event out over a few days.”

alot of what I learned that day shapes my style and goals when it comes to photographing your big day. instead of a long list of what you can expect from me I thought it might be easier to quickly tell you what you won’t get from me.

I won’t rush you. we can get together as often as you need before the wedding day to discuss all of the details and everything you need from me.

you won’t be tripping over your photographer that day. I like to stay in the background as you get ready for the day and then just let things unfold and be there to capture them. posed shots are kept to a minimum – I remember how much I appreciated being able to enjoy most of my wedding without having to worry about endlessly looking at the camera.

you won’t have to worry about being able to afford only a few of your favourite photos. becky and I had a very difficult time finding a photographer we liked that would also allow us to purchase our photos. that’s why all of my packages come with cd’s that include all of your best, fully retouched photos that are yours to keep forever at no extra charge.

you won’t end up with photos that look like everyone else’s. whether you want bright and vibrant colors or crisp high contrast black and whites, traditional outdoor photos or trendy and unique urban shots, I’ll make sure that you get exactly what you were looking for. I don’t have a ‘set’ style, each set is just a little different.

finally, you don’t have to worry about not having any fun during your photos! we’ll pick a few great locations that will keep you interested and excited about your pictures. I have a casual and relaxed approach that I try and pass along to everyone. I want to have a great time photographing you and I think the easiest way to make that happen is to make sure you’re having a good time to!

a day-after session is your perfect chance to go wherever you want to get those photos you’re really hoping for. we’ll head out to a beautiful canola field, some cool urban spots or to that special spot where you shared your first kiss. you can take your dress to places you wouldn’t have dreamed on the wedding day, and that will go a long way to getting those beautiful photos you want.

don’t worry, nobody says your newlywed session actually has to be the day after your wedding. Go work on your tan for a few weeks on a beach and slip into your dress again when you get home. If your guy doesn’t have a tux then a nicely tailored pair of slacks, a dress shirt and a tie will give your shoot a bit more casual look and he’ll feel like a rock star.
