1. this little girl. my niece. when she was born I got out a camera and decided to try my hand at this photography thing and it just kept rolling from there.
2. this amazing photographer. I first saw some of her work on display at church and I had never seen someone capture our province and some of the people in it in such a beautiful way. she was kind enough to answer so many of my questions when I was starting out and to this day, I check her blog each night to see if a new post is up.
3. people like jessica and justin. they were one of the families that I photographed when I was first starting out and I was still a little unsure of myself. I often looked at my work and wondered if it was good enough. if I was good enough. then I got an email from jessica that was…..well, it was one of the kindest emails I’ve ever received. it wasn’t that long and it was pretty simple. her encouraging words after our session meant the world to me and I still go back and read it when I need a little boost. it kept me going during times when I thought about quitting. looking back at the people I’ve met over the last two years, I’m so glad that I never quit. it’s been the most amazing ride.
so jessica and justin, I give you these shots as a thank you. it’s not enough for what you did for me but it’s my simple attempt to say thanks.
