tayo
November 22nd, 2009
this post needs to start with an apology to my wonerful brother in law and his wife. the only downside to being a photographer is that your personal photos usually end up getting edited last and the downside to being related to a photographer is that the photos you really want to enjoy always take too long to see. so for that, I’m sorry!
this is my nephew tayo. he has the biggest eyes and a thin mop of blonde hair. he doesn’t seem to mind when we’re not paying attention and the dogs start to lick his face. he loves to be cuddled and will nap for hours while lying on your chest as you enjoy a nap yourself.
he reminds me that this world is still full of love and beauty and that no matter what happens, there is always reason to be filled with hope.
vincent van gogh said “”if one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.”

chela
November 22nd, 2009
tamara and her little chela came all the way from california to visit grandma and grandpa and have some photos taken. we caught a weather break and woke up to a warm saturday morning and this session couldn’t have been more fun. she is an adventurous little girl who spent the afternoon running ahead of us and exploring everything she could get her hands on!

janine & james
November 22nd, 2009
this beautiful family braved the cold weather so that they could still get some fall photos before the snow starts to fly. we met at janine’s parents home just outside of the city and it couldn’t have been a more perfect backdrop. They have several acres of cherry and plum trees, endless rows of sunflowers and rose bushes and a perfectly maintained yard. they were kind enough to offer their property for photos in the summer and I can’t wait to go back and enjoy their acreage when it’s in full bloom!

camille & clark
November 22nd, 2009
camille and clark would be considered heroes to the average canadian.
did they win an olympic gold medal? no.
did they find a cure for a disease? no.
they own a tim horton’s.
so while they are the envy of most people in our great country because of that, I had to admire what wonderful parents they are. their little guy took a bit of a spill and hurt his leg so he was a little scared to walk around and explore which is what I normally let kids do so I can capture them at their most natural. they poured all their energy into making sure that he could still have as much fun as possible and give mom and dad some beautiful pictures to boot!
they cuddled, they tickled, they made him laugh as only parents can.
